adamAdam Shapiro - Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary
Adam Shapiro holds a Bachelor Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Miami, USA. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Adam was an auditor in Boston, USA with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and Melbourne, Australia with professional firms Andersen Worldwide and Ernst & Young prior to joining NewSat in 2007. During his audit career which spanned nearly a decade, Adam specialised in technology businesses, performing both due diligence and audit engagements on multiple high technology companies in both the United States and Australia and is highly versed in both US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Reporting Standards.

Prior to joining NewSat, Adam was one of the company auditors which gave him an inherent knowledge of both the capabilities of the business and the global satellite markets. Over the last 2 years, Adam has worked closely with the CEO and Board and the executive management team in fine tuning the company business model, the key business performance metrics, the forecasting and the long term business plan.

 

andrewAndrew Matlock - Vice President Sales and Marketing
Andrew Matlock holds a Bachelor of Applied Science majoring in computer science and mathematics from Swinburne University.

With a 25 year work history starting out as a programmer/analyst, Andrew very quickly moved into the development of sales and marketing teams for various international companies. These include; Regional manager for Calcomp Inc, (a division of Lockheed Martin) and VP Sales for Double Impact. For the past 10 years he has created, developed and subsequently managed a number of divisional business units, with full P&L accountability. During this time, he also co-founded a successful start–up venture in San Francisco and an outsourced sales enterprise, Red e-solutions.

Andrew joined NewSat in 2007 and in June 2008 Andrew took over the position of Vice President Sales and Marketing. Since assuming the position, Andrew has utilised his diverse experiences and interpersonal skills to effectively manage the sales team whilst incorporating a new targeted and aggressive lead generation platform into the company. The results have lifted the performance of the sales engine with new sales increasing significantly during Andrew’s first full year in the position.

Len McGoldrick - Vice President Engineering & Operations
Len McGoldrck studied at Langside College, Glasgow gaining Higher National Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.

A telecommunications career spanning 35 years in Scotland and Australia, Len has specialised in Satellite for 25 years of that period. Prior to immigrating to Australia in 1997, Len worked for British Telecom International (BT) for over 20 years in various project management positions commissioning satellite networks for customers in the North Sea Oil and Gas market and supported various special earth station projects throughout Europe and the Middle East. In 1997 Len joined AAPT Sat-Tel as a Satellite Earth Station Engineer at their Perth Teleport and became Operations Manager of the Perth Teleport in 2000 after Newskies purchased the facility.

Len joined the NewSat team as Operations Manager of the Perth Teleport in 2005 as a legacy Newskies Satellites employee when the teleports were purchased at that point by NewSat. In 2008, Len was appointed as Vice President of Engineering and Operations for NewSat. During the past 12 years, Len has been a stalwart in building the foundation that has grown the Perth teleport and extended the footprint further through construction of the Adelaide Teleport. The growth has been from 1 antenna in 1997 in Perth to a combined 23 antennas in both Perth and Adelaide looking at 13 different satellites in 2009. This has been instrumental in making Newsat the largest independent Teleport Operator in the region.with a most impressive SatCom capabilities statement.

 

mikeMike Kenneally - Vice President Planning and Development
Mike has 30 years’ experience in Information and Communications Technology, managing large national and international projects.

Mike worked with the Department of Defence and the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. He subsequently managed a prominent spatial project for the Northern Territory government before moving to IBM, where he contributed to spatial projects throughout Australia and Asia.

From 1989, he established a technical consultancy which undertook many successful projects over 11 years. Clients included the California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles County, General Electric, Fujitsu Europe, Telstar/Lockheed Martin and Telecom NZ. Mike was technical auditor for the first spatial census of Australia in 1996 and solution architect for the winning bid for the Australian defence spatial system.

Mike was a member of the Australian Trade Commission’s ICT Export Advisory Board, Chairman of industry group Spatial Australia for 6 years, guest lecturer at the University of South Australia Computing Science faculty and has served on the board of an ASX listed company.

Mike was a founding Director of Australian Private Networks in 2001, and joined NewSat in 2006, where he has fulfilled senior roles in sales, product development and business development.
